The headstone image seen here is an excerpt from a World War I era postcard photograph of Rohatyn’s old Jewish cemetery from a collection created by Tomasz Wiśniewski, used here by permission granted to Rohatyn Jewish Heritage. All of the stones in these photographs were stolen from the old cemetery for use in road construction during the German occupation of Rohatyn in WWII; to date none have been recovered, and all remain missing.
