Stone Condition:

the stone is broken into at least three pieces, with parts of the epitaph missing; the surface is in fair to good condition, with parts of the surviving lines legible

Conservation:

The stone fragment was extracted along with about two dozen others in April 2014 from under a garden on vul. Ivan Franko in central Rohatyn, where others had been removed in a prior year. The excavation was arranged by Mykhailo Vorobets and carried out by Rohatyn city workers. The stones were first moved to the vodokanal facility in the north part of Rohatyn, where they were viewed and photographed by RJH in July. Mr. Vorobets later arranged to have the stones moved to the old Jewish cemetery in spring 2015.
