the stone is broken into at least three pieces, with parts of the epitaph missing; the surface is in fair to good condition, with the surviving lines legible
Conservation:
The stone was one of many found at undocumented locations around Rohatyn and recovered under the direction of Mykhailo Vorobets and moved to the new Jewish cemetery in 2012. Mr. Vorobets later arranged to have the stone moved to the old Jewish cemetery in spring 2015.

This stone likely belongs to Samuel Josel Bäder, reported as died on 13 June 1912 at age 58 in Rohatyn, with his death confirmed by examination one day later (the 14th) by Dr. Terlecki, and his burial in Rohatyn two days after his death (the 15th). AGAD record 300/0/3689 volume IV, sheet 183 line 37.
