fair; a large crack deforms the epitaph field, though it can still be deciphered even with some characters missing; traces of black paint remain in the epitaph field, and blue paint in the name

Recovered from a walkway behind the house at vul. Adama Mitskevycha 8 in downtown Dobromyl in March 2016, then installed in a newly-constructed Wall of Memory at the Dobromyl Jewish cemetery in May and June 2016; see the web page About Dobromyl for more information.

[N4] היה is slightly abbreviated to 'הי to avoid inscribing the divine name יה.
[N5] Mishnayot ─ sections which form the Mishna corpus, the first major work of rabbinic literature from which all subsequent works stem. The reference here is probably to his regular participation in a Mishna study circle.
[N8] The Hebrew date might otherwise have been recorded as the eve of the festival of Purim.
