[N1] Despite the several clearly-inscribed letters, this line defies elucidation. The solitary letter ע has no meaning; perhaps it is the last vestige of an acrostic that appeared in the top half of the gravestone, now lost?
[N2] איר is an unusual spelling of the month אייר Iyyar.
